Two men arrested in connection with armed burglaries at Fox Valley in Stocksbridge

Police investigating a break-in at a shopping complex in Stocksbridge have today made two arrests in connection to the incident.

Police received reports in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 19 February) of a man and a boy armed with axes forced entry into a store at Fox Valley and stole make-up and perfumes.

Later, at around 3am, the pair were reported to have driven their vehicle into a petrol station on Smith Street in Chapeltown, causing damage to the windows.

No injuries have been reported.

A 26-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary.

Local neighbourhood officers are carrying out additional patrols at Fox Valley to provide reassurance to both staff and visitors.
