Two men accused of murdering Jordan Marples-Douglas in Sheffield due back in court this week

Two men accused of murdering Jordan Marples-Douglas have had their case briefly considered and adjourned until later this week.

Aaron Johnson, aged 22, of Mawfa Crescent, Norton, Sheffield, and Ben Jones, aged 25, of no fixed abode, have both been charged with murder after police were called to a property on Woodthorpe Road, Sheffield, on March 6, following reports Mr Marples-Douglas had been found with stab wounds.

Mr Marples-Dougles, aged 23, died shortly afterwards, according to police.

Dina Aweimrin, aged 22, of Oakdale Road, Nether Edge, Sheffield, has also been charged with assisting an offender after Mr Marples-Douglas’s death.

Kath Goddard, prosecuting, told a Sheffield Crown Court hearing today, September 7, the matter had been listed for case management before a scheduled trial from March 8, 2021, but due to an administrative issue it would need to be adjourned.

Judge Sarah Wright adjourned the case until September 9. Mr Johnson and Mr Jones were remanded in custody.
