Two arrested on suspicion of murder in Sheffield

Emergency services were called shortly before 1am this morning to reports a man had been assaulted on South Road, High Green.

A 45-year-old man was found with serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead while being taken to hospital.

A 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder and both are currently in police custody.

Formal identification of the 45-year-old and a post mortem examination are yet to take place.

Neighbours reported seeing a CSI van at the scene since last night (January 29). The road has been cordoned off since its arrival.

There will be a police presence in the South Road area of High Green while officers carry out their enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

A third man, 31, has since been arrested.
