Two arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after man shot in Sheffield

Two arrests have been made over a shooting in Sheffield which left a man critically injured.

A 22-year-old man and a boy, 17, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday as part of a police probe into a shooting on Staniforth Road, Darnall, just before 5pm on Saturday, January 4.

A 28-year-old man was shot in his upper body during a confrontation with a number of people who pulled up alongside him in two cars as he walked through Darnall.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition and remains in a stable condition.

The 22-year-old quizzed over the incident was later bailed while the younger suspect remains in police custody this afternoon.South Yorkshire Police said: “We are continuing to appeal for witnesses and would urge anyone to contact us if they know anything about what happened that evening.”Call 101 and quote incident number 592 of January 4.
