Detective Sergeant Dave Prest, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim and we are determined to get to the bottom of exactly what happened.

“We are keen to trace a large silver vehicle – possibly a 4x4 – that was spotted in the area at around the time of this incident.

“We’d also like to hear from any other people who were in the Poplar Street area at around 3pm on Friday.”
