Trial date set for twin brothers accused of Sheffield murder

Twin brothers accused of a New Year’s Day murder in Sheffield have been remanded to custody ahead of a trial.

Jacob Mwanza and Isaac Mwanza, both 19 and of Rother View Road, Canklow, Rotherham, were charged last week with the murder of 18-year-old Isaiah Usen-Satchell after he was stabbed in the early hours of New Year’s Day near his home in Norfolk Park.

The Mwanza brothers, who are accused of murder and perverting the course of justice, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, July 6.

Their application for bail was adjourned until a later date by Judge Peter Kelson QC.

A case management hearing has been set for September 28. A trial, which is expected to last seven days, was scheduled for December 7.

Two other men, aged 20 and 22, who were also arrested on suspicion of murder, have not been charged and remain on bail.
