Tragedy as motorcyclist, 25, killed after 'serious' collision with pickup truck

Police officers investigating a collision in which a 25-year-old motorcyclist sadly died have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

On June 24 in Thrybergh, at around 3.50pm, a motorcyclist on a black Honda bike was travelling along Carr Lane in the direction of Kilnhurst, when it is reported he was in collision with a grey Nissan Navara pickup truck which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The 25-year-old man who was on the bike suffered serious head injuries and sadly died in hospital the next day (25 June).

The investigation into the collision is continuing and police officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened that afternoon or was present at the scene.

A woman we believed to be a district nurse, and two other men who were present at the scene after the collision, are of particular interest to the police.

The two men had been travelling in a black mark 3 Ford Escort, and police believe the woman gave medical assistance to the injured motorcyclist.
