Top cop is honoured during International Women's Day

Rotherham’s District Commander, Chief Superintendent Una Jennings, has received an award recognising her leadership of the policing operation in the town.

The award was given to Chief Supt Jennings as part of the Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce International Women’s Day celebrations on March 6.Before being told she was actually there to receive an award, Chief Supt Jennings gave a speech at the event about the lessons she had learned in policing over the last 18 years.She said: “I am delighted and incredibly humbled to have been chosen as the recipient of the Athena International Leadership award.“I am proud to serve in Rotherham, and proud to work alongside so many dedicated, hard-working and truly inspirational women every single day. It’s important to me that we continue to work hard, to dream, and to push ourselves - and each other - to really see what we can achieve. The sky is the limit.”
