Thug brandishes knife and threatens to stab Sheffield teenager after asking to ‘borrow his phone’

A police E-fit has been released of a man wanted over a knifepoint robbery in a Sheffield street.

The robber targeted a 17-year-old boy as he walked along a footpath between the Cardwell estate and Richmond Road, Richmond, at 4.48pm on Thursday, January 2.

South Yorkshire Police said the crook asked the teenager if he could use his phone to make a call.

When the boy refused, the robber produced a knife and threatened to stab him.

He demanded that the boy handed over his iPhone X and a gold and ring he was wearing.

The robber was of mixed race, around 26 or 27 years old and around 5ft 11ins tall.

He was of a medium build and had short, black hair.

At the time, he was wearing a black baseball cap and a midi-length black puffa coat.
