Thrybergh Working Men’s Club shooting: Rotherham police search for three ‘key witnesses’ to gun incident

Three ‘key witnesses’ are at the centre of a police search after a shooting outside a South Yorkshire working men’s club.

The detective leading the investigation into the incident outside Thrybergh Working Men’s Club today exlained who the people were who police want to speak to, after the incident at 7.20pm on Friday June 30, which has left its victim in hospital.

Detective Inspector Chris Ronayne, from the South Yorkshire Police Armed Crime Team, said: “Our enquiries continue into this incident, and I am grateful to the local community for their support and patience while officers have been in the area.

“What we know is that the victim was getting out of a white Range Rover Evoque in the car park behind the premises when the shooting took place.

“Enquiries so far have revealed three key witnesses that we really want to trace and speak to. We believe they may have seen the shooting or the events leading up to the shooting.

“One of the witnesses is a white woman with long blonde hair, who was walking two small dogs along Hollings Lane. She was walking away from the club and alongside the car park shortly before the shooting.

“Two more women were walking past the club car park, in the direction of the club, and they could hold vital information. Both women are white, one was wearing a long blue coat with dark trousers or leggings and wearing glasses. The other was wearing an orange top and dark leggings.

“If you were in the area at the time, and you haven’t yet spoken to us, please get in touch. We’re also remain keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, video doorbell or dashcam footage that may be of use to the investigation.”
