Three-year-old girl 'spat at' by teen who claimed to have coronavirus

Police have launched an investigation after a three-year-old girl was spat at by a teenager who claimed to have coronavirus.

The incident is reported to have occurred at around 3.30pm on Sunday, April 19, when the girl and her dad were taking their daily exercise on Pinfold Lane in Barnsley.

After the pair saw a group of four teenagers on bikes, the girl told them they should go home.

One of the group allegedly then spat into his hand and wiped it on her face, saying he had Covid-19.

The same teenager then spat towards the girl and her father again before riding away with the rest of the group.

Anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 519 of 19 April.
