THREE cars found burning in Sheffield within 20 minutes of each other had all been stolen from a garage in the city earlier in the day.

Firefighters were called to the first blaze on Cary Road, Manor, at 8pm on Tuesday and found a BMW engulfed in flames.

At 8.20pm, crews were called to Doctor Lane, Darnall, and found a Vauxhall Zafira and a Volkswagen Golf burning.

The cars had all been stolen from a garage on Penistone Road earlier in the day.

A police probe into the cars being stolen and set alight is now under way.

Anyone who knows anything about the break-in or saw anything suspicious on Cary Road or Doctor Lane before the cars went up in flames should call police on 101.
