Three shots fired in attack outside pub in city suburb

Detectives investigating a drive-by shooting outside a Sheffield pub have revealed that three shots were fired.

Police were called in at 11.30pm on Saturday after a gun was fired from a vehicle driving past The Wharncliffe on Bevercotes Road, Firth Park.

Nobody was injured in the incident, which police are treating as a ‘targeted attack’.

A police hunt for the culprit is still under way.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police can confirm that three shots were fired. Enquiries are ongoing.”
