Three injured in vehicle crash

A MOTORIST and two passengers were taken to hospital after the car in which they were travelling crashed into a tree and a parked vehicle.

The trio were travelling along Moonshine Lane in Southey Green, Sheffield, in a Rover car, when their vehicle left the road.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police closed the road in both directions while they dealt with the incident.

Boy, 9, injured

A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy was rushed to hospital after he was knocked down by a car in Sheffield.

He suffered arm injuries on Chaucer Road, Parson Cross, at 3.30pm yesterday. Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Cannabis raid

CANNABIS plants worth £3,000 were found by police during a raid on a house in Barnsley.

Officers swooped on the property on North Road, Royston, and found 12 plants growing inside.

A local man in his 30s voluntarily attended a police interview but has not been charged.

Forensic enquiries are now underway.
