Three drug offenders who admit producing cannabis in Sheffield face sentencing

Three men have admitted being involved in the production of cannabis at a property in Sheffield.

Sheffield Crown Court heard on December 9 how Ismail Celiku, aged 26, Fatjon Plaku, aged 25, and Joni Stani, aged 36, all of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to producing the class B drug between August 1 and November 10, this year in Sheffield.

Plaku claimed he had been at the property concerned for three days, Celiku claimed he had not committed the offence of his free-will and Stani claimed he had committed the offence because his family had been affected by Covid-19.

Joy Merriam, defending, said the defendants claim to have been gardeners but James Baird, prosecuting, said that is not an accepted.

Recorder Chris Smith adjourned the case until December 17 for the CPS to consider the basis of pleas and a possible Trial of Issue.
