Three arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following double Darnall shooting

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a double shooting in Darnall.

Officers were called at 10:09pm to a property on Shirland Place following reports two men had been shot on February 22.

A 34 year-old man and 27 year-old man were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

T/Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Henderson said: “This investigation is in its early stages, but so far we believe a group of men entered the property and fired shots at two men who were known to them.

“Officers quickly carried out a search of the area and three men, 40 year-old man, a 32 year-old man and a 25 year-old man were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection to the incident.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or may have seen the car prior to the incident and have dash-cam footage that can assist with our enquiries.

“A scene is currently in place at the property while officers carry out their enquiries.

“I would like to reassure the community that believe this is a targeted attack and we will be carrying out additional patrols in the area.
