Three arrested for attempted murder following Sheffield shooting

Three Sheffield men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in the city last month.

Police were called to Lump Lane, Grenoside on the evening of Thursday, August 27 after a 35-year-old man was shot in the leg. He was taken to hospital via ambulance and later discharged.

On Thursday, 3 September three men, aged 24, 27 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They have since been bailed pending further enquiries, police confirmed.

Witnesses claim they saw a car speeding away from the scene on the night following the sound of gunshots. Following the shooting, officers told punters inside The Old Red Lion pub on Main Street not to leave to avoid disrupting the crime scene.Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 101 quoting incident 888 of 27 August 2020 .
