Three people have been arrested and drugs and knives seized in a huge police raid on a Sheffield estate.

More than 20 officers flooded Exeter Place in Broomhall and raided several properties.

One of the three is due to appear in court tomorrow after being remanded in custody.

Sheffield North West Neighbourhood Policing Team, which co-ordinated the raids, said: “Three addresses searched and three arrested - six pointy things found on two suspects who were found on the street and arrested for possessing a bladed article. Crack cocaine and MDMA found.

“The warrants required the use of 21 officers to ensure all addresses could be searched simultaneously. Neighbours came out to thank us for the action - dealing is a serious issue and the constant flow of people, loud noise causes real quality of life issues. We followed up the warrant with lots of door knocking and high visibility patrol - we'll be back to Broomhall soon.”
