The owner of the display said: “Unfortunately, the lights will all be coming down and no longer going back up, which is a shame because the kids love them.”

“It used to be in aid of charity, but we had to stop after the collection box was stolen.”

The man arrived in the early hours of Saturday, December 7 and stole a 3D train from the front garden of their home.

Just hours later at 10.15pm he arrived again, this time to cut the wires on their lights, steal an angel, a 3D seesaw and a 4ft fibre optic snowman.

Witnesses should call 101 with information.
