Thieves steal chain saw during burglary at Rotherham farm building

Criminals made off with a chain saw and a lawn mower after they burgled a farm building in Rotherham on Tuesday night (August 20).

Officers are appealing for information after a property on Penny Lane in Firbeck was broken into.

Thieves gained access to the building over night and stole an orange Husqvarna 216 ride on lawn mower and other items, before leaving in a vehicle via a nearby field.

A chain saw, Mikita mitre chop saw, hedge trimmer, two petrol strimmers, a petrol generator and a JCB Beaver pack have also have been stolen from the property.

PC Garry Pratt said: “If you are offered any of these items for sale, or see them being advertised on social media or local forums, please make contact with us.

“If you have any information who might be responsible for last night’s burglary I’d also like to hear from you.

"Please call 101 quoting crime reference number 4/127252/20.”
