He said neighbours had heard a loud bang at around midnight.

He added: “Everything was smashed and they tried breaking into the treatment an consultation room with a crowbar but they couldn’t get in, which is a good thing as our equipment could have been destroyed or taken.”

The thieves stole a radio from the reception.

Mr Amiri has had to close the clinic until Monday to carry out repairs.

He added: “The rTMS Centre is a mental health clinic that provides a unique treatment called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for depression and anxiety. We have been helping a lot of people out during these difficult times and this break-in has put a pause in what we do.

“We would like to ask anyone within that area if they have seen anything that night to get in touch with the police.

“I want to to make businesses aware of increased break-ins and commercial burglaries during the lockdowns.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police, quoting crime number 14/189532/20.
