A SNEAK thief stole a wallet from a man who left his belongings in a bar while he took part in a football training course.

Victim McKenley Taylor was among a number of players who left their belongings in the bar at Gosforth sports centre, Dronfield, but when he returned it had gone.

Sophina Morgan, aged 32, was captured on CCTV stealing the wallet, which contained £10 cash and a driving licence.

Morgan, of Pentland Road, Dronfield Woodhouse, who admitted the theft, said: “I was in a really bad place at the time.

“It was coming up to the anniversary of my nan’s death but there’s no excuse - I was desperate for cash.

“I went to Chesterfield police station and owned up to it. It was about a month later. I felt guilty.”

Morgan was fined £235 with £85 costs and she was also ordered to pay £40 in compensation.
