Staff at Architectural Metalwork Installations, based in Orgreave, say the man in the CCTV images continues to break into their site and steal fuel from their wagon, which is used to transport goods around the country.

As a result, the business has been hit with costs of more than £6,000 through lost earnings, refilling the tank for £500 each time, and investing in more surveillance cameras – including infared technology.

The thief has also caused damage to the wagon’s fuel cap by forcing it off, as well as the site’s external fencing when he forces entrance.

During his last visit on Wednesday night, movement was picked up by infared cameras, which triggered an alarm. Yet the thief still stayed to fill up four tanks he was carrying before fleeing.

Steve Furniss, a director at the business, which employs 54 people, said: “I just can’t believe how brazen he is, you would think that he would at least have something over his head.

“It’s inconvenient as every time it puts the wagon off the road as it has to go in for repair. We’re then left high and dry for a couple of days.”

Staff believe the man is operating with an accomplice, pictured in the CCTV, who keeps a lookout and provides a getaway vehicle.
