Below are some of the more serious and dreadful robbery, assault and theft cases to have recently passed through our courts including offences linked to South Yorkshire and the region where victims have been left traumatised.
Offenders have been involved in robbing a young man at knifepoint, braking a barman’s jaw, stabbing a man, and in one case stealing luxury cars.
In other cases, a man was caught with 145 cannabis plants at a Sheffield property, a prisoner received more time behind bars after he had escaped, and an arsonist torched a florist shop.
But judges have seen fit to punish these offenders appropriately with custodial sentences of varying lengths.
