Sheffield Crown Court heard on June 15 how Samuel Brown, aged 24, of Scarbrough Crescent, Maltby, Rotherham, climbed into his ex’s ground-floor flat through a window in Thurcroft, Rotherham.
Brian Outhwaite, prosecuting, said Brown had been banging on the complainant’s door and the complainant opened her bedroom window and the defendant climbed in uninvited.

The defendant wanted to see his child, according to Mr Outhwaite, and he became aggressive and took a bracelet which was later thrown to the ground.
Mr Outhwaite claimed Brown allegedly shoved and struck the complainant before leaving and he later climbed into a car arguing with the complainant.
Brown, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to putting a person in fear of violence after the incident on March 26.

Judge Peter Kelson QC told Brown it was a serious incident involving bringing other people into the property and some violence.
He added: “There was an element of persistence about it and it was a serious matter.”
Judge Kelson sentenced Brown to 12-months of custody suspended for two-years but warned he would serve the remainder of that jail term – despite having been on remand - if he commits another offence in the next two-years.
Brown was also given a five-year restraining order.
