Terrified shopkeeper tied up by four men at knifepoint in ‘nasty’ armed robbery

A shopkeeper has been left shaken after he was tied up in an armed robbery in Rotherham on late Thursday night.

At about 11pm on June 3, it is reported that four men armed with knives entered Today’s Express convenience store in Upper Millgate.

The men are said to have attacked the shopkeeper, tied him up and stole cash and cigarettes before they fled the scene on foot.

South Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to help in their enquiries to track down the suspects.

Detective Inspector Lee Wilson said: "This was a particularly nasty attack that has understandably left the victim shaken.

"I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to contact police if they have any information that could assist our investigation."

Those with information are urged to contact the police on 101 quoting incident number 1127 of June 3, 2021.
