Teenager in 'serious condition' after Sheffield city centre stabbing

Division Street and Carver Street in the centre of Sheffield are both behind police cordons this morning (March 1) after a teenager was stabbed.

Emergency services were called to Sheffield city centre at 4.15am today following reports that a 19-year-old man had been stabbed in the Carver Street area.

The teenager was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A 23-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.

There will be an increased police presence in the area today and a cordon remains in place around Carver Street and Division Street

Officers are patrolling the area. Police cars are parked at the ends of both streets.

Carver Street is taped off from West Street to Division Street. Division street is taped off between Carver Street and Rockingham Street.
