Teenager punched and kicked during robbery

A teenage boy was left with head and facial injuries after he was knocked to the floor and kicked during a robbery on a South Yorkshire street.

The 17-year-old, from Rotherham, was walking home from Clifton Park in the town when he was confronted by two young men on Middle Lane South, close to Middle Lane.

Police said they punched the teenager, causing him to fall to the ground, where they kicked him before rifling through his pockets.

They escaped with £60 in cash.

One of the robbers was white, tall and slim, with short hair.

He is reported to have been wearing a blue and white hooded top. The other was believed to have been wearing a green T-shirt.

Police want to hear from witnesses to the incident, including motorists who may have been passing at the time and a number of young men outside the Park Hotel pub, who police believe the robbers were with.
