Teenage schoolgirl taken to hospital after bus attack in Sheffield

A Sheffield schoolgirl was taken to hospital when a row with a woman on a bus ended in violence.

Mobile phone footage of the city centre incident yesterday has been shared online and appears to show a woman on a 88 single decker service bus, bound for Ecclesfield, embroiled in a row with a group of students.

Violence then flared on the bus and spilled out onto the street.

In one part of the video the woman can been seen on top of the girl as they are both on the ground.

The teenager’s sister, posting on Facebook, said: “My sister is the one who was attacked.

“We were in A&E all night, she has a black eye and scratches on her face and neck.

“She needs to go back for another check as the doctors think she may have a fractured eye socket.”

She said that all the children who witnessed the violence were ‘traumatised’.
