Teenage girl knocked unconscious on Sheffield street after man asked to use her phone

A manhunt is underway after a woman was knocked unconscious in a Sheffield street.

The 18-year-old woman was attacked on Burngreave Road, Burngreave, by a man who asked to use her phone.

After the woman asked for her phone back the man ran off.

She chased him and attempted to get her phone back but was then attacked.

South Yorkshire Police said: “At about 10pm on Monday, November 25, the woman was walking on Burngreave Road when she was approached by a man who asked to borrow her phone.

“When the victim asked for it back, he ran off, followed by the woman who made attempts to get her phone back.

“The man is then reported to have assaulted the woman, punching her in the face and knocking her unconscious.”

The attacker, who had blond hair and a scratch on his face, wore grey tracksuit bottoms, a navy blue top, a blue jacket and a grey beanie hat.
