Amy Earnshaw, prosecuting, told a previous hearing Johnson had pulled his partner’s hair, punched and kicked her and threw things at her and pulled her back into their house.
Johnson then went to the home of his partner’s mother after his partner had texted her to call the police, according to Mrs Earnshaw.
Mrs Earnshaw said Johnson drew back his arm as if to punch his partner’s mother and told her he would smash her face.

Richard Davies, defending, said rehabilitation is needed for Johnson who has a business and has expressed remorse.
He added: “It’s really hit home to him the severity of the situation and the position he has put himself in. He was quite emotional this morning. If he did not realise the seriousness of the situation he does now."
Judge Harrison sentenced Johnson, who wept in the dock, to 17 months of custody suspended for two years with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement, a Building Better Relationships Requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work. He was also given a five-year restraining order to protect his partner’s mother.
