Police are investigating a reported crime involving a single grave at a churchyard, with officers maintaining a presence at the scene.
South Yorkshire Police said officers are currently present at the churchyard connected to All Saints Church while enquiries continue.
A police spokesperson said: “There is currently a visible police presence in the church yard connected to All Saints, Laughton-en-le-Morthen.”
The spokesperson added: “Our officers are investigating the report of a crime, relating to one grave within the church yard.”

The churchyard has been closed to the public while initial enquiries are carried out, but police said it will reopen once those enquiries are complete.
Officers acknowledged the incident may be upsetting for people with loved ones buried at the site but said they do not believe there is a wider risk.
The spokesperson said: “We understand this may be distressing for those whose loved ones are buried in the church yard so would like to offer reassurance that we currently believe this was a targeted incident and there is no threat to other graves.”
