A MAN accused of a fatal stabbing has entered a not guilty plea to a charge of murder.

Danny Robert Parr, aged 20, of Broom Close, Bramley, Rotherham, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court over the death of Jamie Stewart, 19, who was knifed to death.

Parr denied killing Jamie on July 23 but admitted an offence of possessing an offensive weapon on the same day.

Jamie, who worked in the building trade and who split his time between his mum’s address on Orchard Close, Ecclesfield and his father’s address on Colley Crescent, Parson Cross, was stabbed on his way home after a night out in The White Horse pub on Halifax Road, Parson Cross.

He was found dying in Holgate Avenue, Parson Cross, with multiple stab wounds.

A date for the murder trial has not been set.
