'Surely you got a better pic?' Wanted Doncaster man trolls police over mugshot photo

A Doncaster man wanted by police for assault trolled officers on an appeal for his capture by telling them: “Surely you got a better pic of me?”

Doncaster Police are hunting Liam Taylor over an attack which took place in the town earlier this month.

The appeal was shared on the South Yorkshire Police Facebook page – and Taylor was soon among those posting in the comments section after cops shared a photo of him with one eye closed.

He wrote: “Surely you got a better pic of me”, couple with several ‘crying with laughter’ emojis.

Police spotted the cheeky response and replied: “If you want to discuss our photography skills further, we'd be happy to hear from you. Please call 101.”

An undaunted Taylor replied: “Ye I'll pop in soon for a photo shoot,” adding “thank you SYP, got some good looking woman adding me, use have done me a favour.”

Officers in Doncaster yesterday asked for the public’s help in tracing the 27-year-old.

He is wanted in connection with an assault, which took place on 7 October in Doncaster.

He is known to frequent the Toll Bar and Bentley areas of the town.A spokesman said: “We want to hear from you if you have any information about Taylor’s whereabouts or know where he is staying.

"Please contact 101 quoting incident number 14/149137/20.
