Stolen car abandoned during police chase in Sheffield rolls into cop car after being dumped on hill

A stolen vehicle involved in a pursuit in Sheffield rolled into a police car following it after being abandoned on a hill.

The Citroen was stolen in a burglary in Derbyshire and spotted being driven around north Sheffield.

The driver and passenger jumped out of the vehicle after abandoned it on a hill during a police chase, causing it to roll into the police car following.

South Yorkshire Police said: “This Citroen was picked up by one of our unmarked cars.

“After a few lefts and rights however, the two lads in the Citroen decided against being chased in the car and jumped out whilst it was rolling and ran off into the night.

“As the car was going up hill at the time they abandoned it, it rolled backwards into our unmarked car. It only caused some minor cosmetic damage thankfully.

“The Citroen was recovered for our CSI bods to do their thing, after which it will be returned to the owner.”
