Staff member 'wounded' during robbery of Sheffield corner shop

Two men have appeared in court accused of a robbery at a corner shop.

Kailen Rose, 19, of Spring Lane, Arbourthorne, and Kaylom Delaney, 20, of Baildon Close, Leeds, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday, February 26, accused of allegedly robbing Johal’s Mini Market on Robin Lane, at Beighton, Sheffield, and allegedly taking cigarettes and alcohol.

Robert Coyne, prosecuting, said the defendants allegedly robbed the store, which is at the junction with Victoria Road, about 7.55am, on Sunday, February 16.

Mr Coyne added that a knife had allegedly been used during the suspected robbery and a staff member allegedly suffered a wound.

Deputy District Judge Jane Hamilton committed the case to Sheffield Crown Court for a further hearing on March 25.

Both defendants, who have not yet entered pleas, were remanded in custody.
