Detectives investigating a knife attack on a Sheffield youth worker earlier this month have not yet made any arrests.

Salih Rehman, aged 19, was stabbed outside the Pizza Planet takeaway in Staniforth Road, Darnall, while walking past with relatives.

The Sheffield Futures apprentice, who lives in Darnall, was attacked on June 4.

A gold Renault Clio car pulled up outside the takeaway and a group of Asian men, in their late teens to early 20s, got out and the two groups started fighting.

The car drove off after the attack and some of those involved ran off towards Acres Hill Road.

Salih was stabbed in his right shoulder and admitted to the Northern General Hospital but police said he is now recovering.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said enquiries into the stabbing are ongoing.

Witnesses who have not yet come forward or anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Crimestoppers can also be contacted on 0800 555111.
