Spice, crack cocaine, knife and van seized in crime crackdown in Sheffield suburb

Police officers 'on the hunt for illegal drugs, weapons and uninsured vehicles' have made a number of seizures in a Sheffield suburb.

The Burngreave Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a two-day operation and seized Spice, crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis, a knife and an uninsured van.

The drugs and weapon were found during street searches and South Yorkshire Police said all those found carrying them are now under investigation.

South Yorkshire Police said: "We've continued our hard work tackling criminal activity in the area whilst maintaining our patrols to advise and take enforcement against those ignoring social distancing regulations.

"Two fixed penalty notices were issued today on Spital Hill to individuals who are repeatedly congregating in large groups.

"We'll be on the hunt for more drugs and weapons over the next few days."
