Sheffield Magistrates’ Court – sitting at Sheffield Crown Court – heard on April 24 how Catherine Pellegrine, 40, formerly of Doncaster Road, Rotherham, had been given a community order and a restraining order for harassment on April 15 after repeatedly visiting her mother’s home on Park Road, Rotherham, and demanding money.

However, the court heard after Pellegrine breached the restraining order for the third time she was given a suspended prison sentence on April 23 but she admitted that on the same day she breached her restraining order for the fourth time by visiting her mother again.

Matthew Shepherd, defending, said Pellegrine, of no fixed abode, is having problems with accommodation, benefits and a methadone prescription and prison is arguably the safest place for her.

District Judge Naomi Redhouse sentenced Pellegrine to six weeks of custody. Pellegrine must pay a £128 victim surcharge.
