South Yorkshire woman gets custody for breaching restraining order twice

A pest has received a custodial sentence after she twice breached a restraining order.

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court – sitting at Sheffield Crown Court – heard on April 21 how Catherine Pellegrine had been given a 12-month community order and a restraining order for harassing her mother by visiting her home and demanding money.

Pellegrine, aged 40, of Doncaster Road, Eastwood, Rotherham, was sentenced on April 15 to the community order and a 6-month restraining order but after she breached the restraining order on April 16 she was given an extended 12-month restraining order on April 17. However, she has now admitted attending her mother’s home again on April 17.

Matthew Shepherd, defending, said Pellegrine’s mother has been managing her benefits and methadone prescriptions and she had visited her mother to get a phone number.

Pellegrine was sentenced to five days of custody which was deemed served by the time she has spent remanded in custody following the breaches.
