South Yorkshire school forced to close after break-in

A South Yorkshire school is closed following a burglary.

Swallownest Primary School, Swallownest, Rotherham, was broken into overnight, with the raid discovered at 5.20am on Wednesday.

South Yorkshire Police said intruders forced entry, causing damage, but it is not yet known what was stolen.

The school said: “Due to a break-in, we have made the decision to close the school today due to health and safety reasons.”Anyone with information should call 101 and quote incident number 92 of December 4.
