South Yorkshire rapist will spend more than 14 years behind bars over campaign of abuse

A rapist found guilty of a string of sexual offences has been jailed for 14 years and six months.

On Monday, March 16, Sheffield Crown Court heard how Jamie Miller, aged 40, of Carlton Road, Barnsley, was found guilty by a jury after being tried for a series of offences committed between 2003 and 2017.

These included a rape from October to November 2003, assault by penetration from between December 2004 and April 30, 2006, a sexual assault from April 2006, and three counts of sexual assault on a child from between January 2014 and January 2017.

He was also found guilty of making indecent photos of a child from April 7, 2017.

Miller was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely and he was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 12 years to monitor his movements subject to his release from custody and to protect the public from any future risk.
