Police patrols have been stepped up on a South Yorkshire lane following reports of sexual activity.

Officers are patrolling Long Lane, near Treeton, following complaints over a number of months.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police are stepping up patrols in the Long Lane area after reports of sexual activity in a public place.

“Reports stretch back to several months ago, but there have been more complaints recently.

“The area is surrounded by fields, but does have a nearby housing estate, business and public footpath on Long Lane, just off the A631 West Bawtry Road.

“High-visibility patrols are being carried out in the area and South Yorkshire Police are warning that action will be taken against anyone committing any criminal activity.”
