South Yorkshire Police seek burglars after man is attacked during house raid

A police hunt is under way for two men who forced their way into a man’s home and stole, cash, his wallet and phone.

They also attacked the man, who is aged in his sixties, during the raid on College Road, Masbrough, Rotherham, on Tuesday, June 8.

South Yorkshire Police said: “It is reported that at approximately 11pm, two men attended an address in College Road and began banging on the door. The men then forced entry into the occupant’s home, assaulting them and dragged them to the floor.

“They stole a number of items including a quantity of money from the address before fleeing the scene.

“The victim suffered minor injuries.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious around that area that night to contact us.”
