A man was rammed off his motorbike and robbed on a road in Rotherham.

The 30-year-old was returning home from work when he was followed on his motorbike by three men on two scooters in the early hours of Friday, September 11.

They rammed him off his bike at the junction where Church Lane meets Monksbridge Road, Dinnington, before stealing the motorbike and the rider’s phone.

South Yorkshire Police said: “An investigation is underway after a 30-year-old man was reportedly assaulted and had his motorbike stolen in Rotherham in the early hours of Friday, September 11.“Shortly after 3am, the man was travelling through Dinnington when three riders on two other scooters began to follow him.

“At the junction where Church Lane meets Monksbridge Road, it’s said that the man was rammed off his bike and assaulted before having his motorbike and mobile phone stolen.“Officers located the man’s bike close-by and an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery. He has been bailed.”
