Officers are asking the public to help them identify three men caught on CCTV in connection with an aggravated burglary that took place in Sheffield last month.

South Yorkshire Police have released images of three men they would like to speak to in connection with an investigation into an aggravated burglary in the Gleadless area last month.

Police were called shortly before midnight on Wednesday May 20 after it was reported that three unknown men attempted to force entry into a house on Gleadless Road and started smashing the rear doors of the property.

The homeowner, a man in his 30s, is believed to have distributed the suspects while they were attempting to break in and the group then threatened him with violence.

While one of the suspects may have had a gun, no shots are reported to have been fired, although a member of the group is believed to have thrown a metal bar at the victim.

The three men fled the scene before officers arrived but no property was stolen during the attack.

Police are urging anyone who recognises the individuals pictured in the CCTV stills to get in touch as they may hold vital information.
