A South Yorkshire pervert has admitted attempting to communicate sexually with a child

Sheffield Crown Court heard on January 5 how Thomas Olding, aged 33, of Marrian Avenue, Thurcroft, Rotherham, admitted attempting to communicate sexually with a child in August 2018.

Olding, who is of previous good character, also admitted attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act from the same date involving images of people engaging in sexual activity.

The court heard how a probation service report has been requested before Olding is to be sentenced.

Recorder Anthony Hawks told Olding he will be given credit for pleading guilty at the first opportunity and he will be granted a pre-sentence report but he should not make any assumptions about the outcome of the case.

The case was adjourned until February 1 for sentencing. Olding was released on unconditional bail.
