South Yorkshire man breached restraining order by visiting ex-partner

Sheffield Crown Court heard on December 15 how Haydn Tibble, aged 32, of Lang Avenue, Lundwood, Barnsley, had phoned his ex-partner and stayed with her at her Barnsley home.
Jessica Strange, prosecuting, said Tibble and his ex-partner had been in a relationship for many years but a restraining order had been imposed in March, this year, banning contact with her and any visits.

Hide AdHowever, Ms Strange added: “He telephoned the complainant and asked if he could come to her address and she agreed and he stayed at the address with her permission for a few days and nights and he left on June 11.”
Tibble also returned two days later, according to Ms Strange, at his ex-partner’s request even though she had previously described the defendant as controlling.
The defendant, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to breaching the restraining order.
Lydia Carroll, defending, said Tibble has a new relationship now and he wants to move in with his new partner.

Hide AdJudge Jeremy Richardson QC sentenced Tibble to four months of custody which means the defendant was released because he has already been remanded in custody for six months.
Judge Richardson said the restraining order remains in force and he warned Tibble he must not have any contact with his ex-partner and if she contacts him he advised the defendant to hang up the telephone or walk away.
