South Yorkshire firefighters tackle series of arson attacks

Firefighters across South Yorkshire dealt with a series of arson attacks on vehicles.

At 12.10am yesterday, a Transit van was set alight on Rivelin Valley Road, Rivelin, Sheffield – an hour after a Fiat was set alight on Gaunt Road, Gleadless Valley, Sheffield.

Crews were called to Creswick Avenue, Ecclesfield, Sheffield, on Sunday, at 4am, to find a Vauxhall Astra engulfed in flames.

And the day before, firefighters dealt with a Renault Megane found burning on Carlton Avenue, Athersley South, Barnsley and a scooter set alight on Wordsworth Avenue, Parson Cross, Sheffield.
