Sheffield Crown Court heard on May 4 how Daniel McMillan, aged 24, of Ridgill Avenue, Skellow, Doncaster, was spotted by the victim on her street as she returned home from walking her dog.

Judge Michael Slater confirmed the television had been taken from the complainant’s address and she returned to find the defendant either stealing or returning her TV.

Mr Johnson, defending, said McMillan has become interested in Budhism and his brother believes he is a changed man and he is willing to support him and offer him employment on his release from custody.

Judge Slater sentenced McMillan to ten-months of custody which means the defendant will be released shortly due to time already spent on remand.
